Motorola is preparing to introduce its next premium mid-range smartphone in India, and the Motorola Edge 70 is now just days away from its official debut. Ahead of the launch, details around its expected pricing and complete hardware setup have surfaced, giving a clear picture of where the phone will sit in Motorola’s lineup. While the company hasn’t confirmed the price yet, the available information strongly hints at a noticeable step up from the previous generation.
Motorola Edge 70 Launch and Expected Price in India
The Motorola Edge 70 is scheduled to launch in India on December 15 at 12:00 pm (IST). Once unveiled, the phone is expected to be sold through Flipkart and Motorola’s official website, following the brand’s usual online-first strategy.
Although Motorola has not announced an official price, current estimates suggest the Edge 70 could be positioned between Rs 34,000 and Rs 40,000. This would place it well above the Moto Edge 60, which entered the Indian market at Rs 25,999. Adding to this expectation is the pricing of its Chinese counterpart, the Moto X70 Air, which launched at 2,399 yuan, roughly translating to around Rs 29,950. Taking regional differences into account, a higher Indian price seems likely.
Design, Build Quality, and Display
The Edge 70 puts a strong emphasis on a slim and premium design. It measures just 5.99mm in thickness, making it one of Motorola’s thinnest smartphones, while keeping the weight around 159 grams. The phone uses an aircraft-grade aluminium frame and comes with a textured back finish.
Motorola is offering the device in Bronze Green, Gadget Grey, and Lily Pad, all developed in collaboration with Pantone. Despite its sleek form, durability hasn’t been ignored. The phone carries MIL-STD 810H certification and IP68/IP69 ratings, providing resistance against dust, water, and harsh conditions.
On the front, the Edge 70 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, supports Dolby Atmos, and includes Smart Water Touch, which helps maintain touch accuracy even when the screen is wet.
Performance, Software, and Battery
At its core, the Motorola Edge 70 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. To maintain stable performance during extended use, Motorola has added a vapour chamber cooling system. The phone ships with Android 16, layered with Motorola’s Hello UI, offering a clean, near-stock Android experience.
Motorola has committed to three Android OS updates and four years of security patches. The device also introduces several Moto AI features, including AI Image Studio, AI Playlist Studio, and productivity tools like Remember This, Catch Me Up, and Next Move. With Smart Connect 3.0, users can expect smoother interaction between smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
Powering the device is a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, rated to deliver up to 31 hours of video playback. Charging options include 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging, aiming to balance speed and convenience.

Camera Capabilities
The Motorola Edge 70 uses a triple 50MP camera approach. On the back, there is a 50MP primary camera with Pantone validation, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens that also supports Macro Vision. For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 50MP front camera.
Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K video at 60fps. Motorola has also added AI-based features to enhance stabilisation, improve action shots, optimise group photos, and allow users to apply custom visual styles.
Final Thoughts
Based on the leaked information, the Motorola Edge 70 appears to be a well-rounded upgrade focused on design refinement, durability, and balanced performance. With a slim body, high-brightness AMOLED display, capable cameras, and long-term software support, it aims to justify its expected higher price point. If Motorola manages to keep the final pricing competitive, the Edge 70 could become a strong option for users looking for a premium Android experience without stepping into flagship pricing territory.
